Driver's Seat is an item in Scrap Mechanic.
Overview[ | ]
The Driver's Seat is a primary control part for vehicles. Using the Connect Tool to link Interactive Parts to the Driver's Seat is what allows drivers to control their machines.
Usage[ | ]
Press E to get in or out of the Driver's Seat.
If connected to a Gas Engine or Electric Engine that is connected to a Bearing, pressing W will rotate the bearings forward and S will rotate them backward.
If connected to a Thruster, holding W will activate it.
If connected to a Controller, pressing W will activate it and pressing S will deactivate it.
If connected to a bearing, D will turn the bearing forward and A will turn it backward. In order to get proper steering in a vehicle, all bearings must be rotating clockwise as viewed from above.
If connected to a Button, Switch, or Radio, they will appear in the hotbar when in the Driver's Seat. Pressing the corresponding number key will activate it.

The Seat is a part that also allows players to ride a creation, but lacks steering controls. It can still be connected to buttons like the Driver's Seat.
The Driver's Saddle functions the same as the Driver's Seat. The distinction is that it is 3 blocks wide instead of 4 blocks, with a different model to fit. It was created so that creations with odd widths can have a centered seat.

Upgrades[ | ]
Upgrading the Driver's Seat Bearing connections and at the last level special settings.
Use the Connect Tool at max level to access the settings on connected bearings.
