Piston is a Machine part in Scrap Mechanic. It extends when it receives a signal from any sort of trigger.
Like the Bearing, when connected to a Controller pistons can be sequenced by using the controller interface. Unlike Bearings, they can have their extend length and speed configured within the piston itself, making a Controller not necessary for simple extending and retracting. The player may not open the GUI to edit the piston if a controller is connected. A piston needs an object on its face to extend or retract.
Pistons have a range from 1 block to 15 blocks with various speeds. Here, the piston is shown in all 15 lengths.
